Shin Yuh is Deputy Director, at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and SingHealth Group Nursing.
She received her undergraduate studies from King’s College London under a Public Service Commission
Scholarship and subsequently went on to pursue a Masters of Business Administration (with Specialization in
Health Care Management) at National University of Singapore.
Her research work focuses on well-being of the nursing workforce, the care environment and nursing sensitive
indicators such as pressure injuries and falls. To date, she has authored/co authored 60 papers in peerreviewed
journals and co-authored a guide book on research for SingHealth nurses. She has also received
numerous grants for her research work and is co-inventor on a patent and a provisional patent. She was
conferred the President’s Award for Nurses in 2019. Shin Yuh is also a Singapore Biodesign 2021 Faculty
Fellow and is involved in teaching of nursing students in institutes of higher learning.
As the nursing lead for transformation, Shin Yuh has led and continues to lead numerous projects aimed at
changing the way nurses deliver care; in order to improve care quality, to meet the healthcare demands of
tomorrow, and to enable better care experience for patients and families. Most notably, she led the
implementation of a suite of apps across SingHealth hospitals to better engage patients and families. She is
now leading the digitalization of competency records and privileging workflow for SingHealth nurses.
