Dr Jirong Lu is a Consultant Urologist at the National University Hospital, Singapore, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at NUS Medicine. His subspecialty interests include robotic and minimally invasive urological surgery, kidney surgery, and kidney transplantation. He completed advanced fellowship training in kidney and pancreas transplantation in London, Ontario, Canada, where he gained extensive experience in kidney transplantation, organ procurement, and complex laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery. His clinical practice includes complex renal surgery, robotic partial nephrectomy, upper tract reconstruction, and kidney transplantation, and is grounded in a holistic, patient-centred philosophy that integrates surgical precision with personalised care. Dr Lu is also a clinician-educator with leadership responsibilities in undergraduate medical education. As Phase III Director at NUS Medicine, he oversees students’ transition into clinical training, including curriculum development, assessment, and learner support. He is the Organising Chairman of Urofair 2026.
