Dr Sim is a senior consultant urologist at Gleneagles Medical Centre. He is the current deputy chairman, Medical Advisory Board for Gleneagles Hospital and Honorary Treasurer for Urological Association of Asia. He was the past President of Singapore Urological Association and past Chairman of the Chapter of Urologists, College of Surgeons, Singapore. Prior to his current practice, Dr Sim was the Director of Urologic Oncology at Singapore General Hospital in charge of complex genito-urinary cancers. He was a key member in setting up the first robotic surgery programme in 2002 and robotic surgery training course in 2004. He completed his urology residency at Singapore General Hospital and subsequent urologic oncology and robotic surgery training at University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in USA under Professors Paul H. Lange, Daniel Lin W., and William J. Ellis. He was the first urologist in Southeast Asia to be certified by Society of Urologic Oncology in Chicago. Dr Sim is also an adjunct assistant professor in NUS, examiner for NUS MBBS surgery examination, and past Director of Singhealth Urology residency programme. He has published extensively and was the Principal Investigator for various National Medical Research Council (NMRC) and Singhealth Research Foundation grants and is a reviewer for Urologic Oncology as well as past reviewer for NMRC grants.
